Local business Robbin Sports Equipment, part of Robbin
Group, have teamed up with Bristol Ladies this season to provide high quality,
affordable equipment to the club. James Marsh, Sports Accounts Manager, spoke
to us about why they have decided to support the team and learn more about
their organisation.
James, tell us a
bit more about Robbin Sports Equipment:
We are a company set up and run by ex-sportsmen and women,
and our aim is to make sure that all clubs get the equipment they need at an
affordable rate, coupled with excellent customer service.
Being here at your
facilities in Keynsham, it’s clear to see you are a company who love sport –
where did this come from?
This arm of the business was set up by ex-Bath Rugby player
Daniel Fox about 2.5 years ago, so the core values of rugby are central to what
we do. Integrity and teamwork are key to the way we run our business. We
support a lot of local schools and clubs across a variety of sports - hockey,
football, athletics and rugby – and the fact our staff all have a rich history
in sport means the passion and commitment is there in everything we do.
Why have you
decided to sponsor Bristol Ladies this year?
We already work with a lot of men’s teams in the area, and
wanted to branch out and start supporting the ladies. Bristol are the best in
the area at the sport, the talent and skill on show is second to none in the
South West and definitely a club we’d like to be associated with! Ladies rugby
is one of the fastest growing sports in the UK – it’s going to be huge!
Anything we can do to support local clubs and help them grow is a great
opportunity for us.
So how are you
supporting the girls this year?
We’ve been working closely with the management team to provide
match day items, such as corner flags, post protectors, team shelters and pitch
side barriers. We have also worked on an advisory level with the club – they
know they can give us a call at any time for any advice or help with anything
they need.

Robbin has 40 years' experience in
manufacturing both sports and architectural metal products to schools,
colleges, universities and sporting academies within the South West of England.
Coupled with a sales team comprising of four ex Bath Rugby Players, an ex Bristol Rovers footballer and members of various local community clubs, Robbin prides itself on its knowledge, passion and commitment to national, regional and local sport.
