Saturday 20th December sees the final fixture in
the Women’s Rugby calendar for 2014, and Bristol Ladies Rugby are seeing the
year out with a bang!
Both teams play at home, at the Portway Rugby Development
Centre, with the 1st XV facing Worcester, who they beat 36 – 22 in
the reverse fixture, and the 2nd XV playing Cheltenham Ladies.
Adding to the occasion, the team are delighted to have the
most prized possession within English Women’s Rugby present at the game…..the
Women’s Rugby World Cup! Supporters will be given close up access to the cup
and the opportunity to have their picture taken with the cup.
Supporters will also have the opportunity to meet Bristol’s
very own World Cup players, including Nolli Waterman and Amber Reed, who will
be participating in a photography and autographing session.
We’re also running a competition to find a ball girl/boy for
the 1st XV game – to enter you must be between the ages of 5 – 17
years old, but don’t have to play rugby, just be interested in the sport. To be
in with a chance to win, please send your name and phone number to bristol.ladies.media@hotmail.com
by 12noon Wednesday 17th December. A name will then be selected at
random, and the individual who has won will be notified directly.
There are several other things happening on the 20th too:
- A girls rugby skills session run by Bristol Ladies Rugby players between 11-12
- A Q&A session with the Bristol WRWC Winning players and those involved in local girls rugby – perfect for anyone thinking about giving rugby a go, or for current players to get help and advice.
- On the day we’ll also be running a raffle for supporters to win a signed piece of World Cup memorabilia.
